For our first PowerHour in our Derby office we’ll be looking at so called “gig” employment, not as a supporting act for Coldplay, but the emerging trend of people working more flexibly either on zero hours contracts or as ‘self-employed’ individuals working several jobs.
The recently published report from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy on employment status and high profile cases involving taxi drivers (Uber), bicycle couriers (City Sprint) and plumbers (Pimlico Plumbers) have provided some interesting developments with potentially far reaching implications for the “gig economy” and the status of employees and workers more generally.
We’re keeping the numbers small for our power hour sessions, with a greater focus on discussing topics in a relaxed atmosphere over breakfast.
To reserve a place at the session, please use the booking form below.
We hope to see you on 1st August!
