“2018 is going to be a big year for Data Protection. The General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’), which takes effect from 25th May 2018, will bring some significant changes to the way all organisations must ensure data protection compliance.”.
A significant amount of the personal data an organisation holds is going to be data relating to HR e.g. job applicants’ data, employee data and ex-employee data. Some of the key changes that the GDPR introduces will affect HR, such as the requirement to provide additional privacy information to individuals and restrictions on when employers can use the consent of their employees to process their personal data. This means that HR professionals are going to need to be aware of the coming changes in data protection law, and the additional obligations they will bring.
This PowerHour is therefore dedicated to data protection for HR professionals. We’ll look at the key aspects that are changing and how they will affect those working in HR. This will be an excellent opportunity for you to raise any issues or concerns you have regarding these changes or data protection practices generally.
As with all the previous sessions we’ve held, we’re keeping the numbers small, with a greater focus on discussing this topic in a relaxed atmosphere over breakfast.
Come armed with your questions and we hope to see you there!
