Geldards continue to support the Business Team Challenge at the North Derbyshire Challenge Sportive.
The event, which takes place on Sunday 17th September, is now in its third year and sees hundreds of cyclists of all ages and abilities taking to the roads around the county.
The challenge starts and finishes at Markeaton Park with riders taking on one of four routes - 40km, 80km, 160km and a brand new 120km route for those looking for more of a challenge but not quite the leap to 160km. All routes will initially head out to Carsington Reservoir with the longer distances winding through the Peak District before returning to Markeaton.
The team distance challenge is an opportunity for up to ten riders to work together in an attempt to travel the greater distance. Riders competing in the Geldards business challenge have an exclusive hospitality area within the Craft Village at Markeaton Park. The team with the greatest total distance will take home the coveted Business Team Challenge title.
David Williams, Chairman at Geldards, commented:
“Cycling is one of the fastest growing sports in the country and Geldards is proud to be supporting an event that will build upon Derby’s ambition to become a cycling city. As a proactive member of the Derby business community and a keen cyclist myself, I hope that teams of friends and colleagues will take up the challenge to get on their bikes and crank up some miles.”
The sporting event will raise money for Ashgate Hospicecare, a charity based in North Derbyshire, who provide care and support to people with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
