Geldards' Partner Appointed to Marine Board
03 February 2010Cardiff based Geldards' Partner Rob James has been appointed as a member of The Marine Management Organisation’s (MMO) first Board by Environment Secretary Hilary Benn.
The Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009 establishes the MMO, a new executive Non- Departmental Public Body, as the UK Government’s strategic delivery body in the marine area and a centre of marine management expertise, to ensure effective planning and management of our seas.
Rob has particular expertise in the area of marine environment projects, notably in port and harbour developments, which has led to his appointment to the Board, a position he will hold for 4 years.
Rob said “ I am delighted to be given the opportunity to contribute to the success of this ground breaking new body. For the first time ever, the UK will have a fully integrated approach to the planning, licensing and regulation of our seas, striking a careful balance between the environmental, the economic and the social needs of us all and of future generations".
