Geldards' Vice Chairman Appointed to Library Board

Huw Williams,, Vice Chairman of Geldards has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru - the National Library of Wales by the Welsh Minister for Heritage, Alun Ffred Jones AM.

Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru - the National Library of Wales, located at Aberystwyth, is one of the leading cultural institutions of Wales. It is the main respository of recorded information on the Welsh and other Celtic peoples and it is also one of the six legal deposit libraries in the UK and Ireland entitled to a copy of every work published in the UK and Ireland.

Commenting on the news of his appointment, Huw said: "It is great honour to be asked to serve as a trustee of Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru - the National Library of Wales. I hope that I can help guide the Library during the challenging times it now faces due to reductions in public expendure, while the continuing impact of the digitisation of the creation and recording of information presents libraries with, arguably, their greatest challenge since the invention of printing".
