Our People
Owen qualified as a solicitor with the firm in September 2008 and already has considerable experience in a wide range of commercial work. He advises on general commercial, IP and IT issues for clients in both the public and private sectors.
He has advised on bespoke and often highly complex procurement and outsourcing issues including: redevelopment and regeneration schemes, ICT procurements, complex media services agreements, collaboration agreements, joint venture vehicles and framework arrangements between multiple local authorities. Owen drafts a host of other general commercial contracts such as website development agreements, terms and conditions and hire agreements and has a hand in producing the firm’s newsletter on public procurement. He is also a member of the Procurement Lawyer’s Association.
Owen regularly advises on IP licences and transfers, ICT agreements, registered trade mark and copyright infringements, patent validity and passing off claims and litigating and defending IP and IT disputes. Owen’s experience of advising the firm’s sports sector clients (which include professional sports people, teams and organising bodies), on their sponsorship and product endorsement deals and brand protection, licensing and exploitation has also led to him taking a role in the firm’s sport and leisure industry team.
Owen is a law graduate of the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.
