Congratulations to Céline Jones who has been appointed Dame de la Duchess Anne of L’Ordre des Chevaliers Bretvins. Céline, a member of Geldards’ French Desk, was inducted by the Bailliage du Pays de Galles at a ceremony on 8 April 2018.
L’Ordre des Chevaliers Bretvins was established in 1948 by Winegrowers from Pays Nantais (the area around the city of Nantes). Although L’Ordre has a particular passion for wine and wine making, it also aims to promote the food, products and culture of Pays Nantais throughout France and the world.
The Bretvins Knights have branches throughout Europe and North America and more than sixty Bretvins Knights live in Wales.
The first Dame de la Duchess Anne were inducted on 16 May 2009, and Céline continued this tradition by taking her oath at the ceremony at Fonmon Castle.
Céline, an Associate in Geldards’ Dispute Resolution team, said:
“I am very proud to join L’Ordre des Chevaliers Bretvins. L’Ordre plays an important role in preserving and supporting the wine and culture of Nantes and its surrounding regions, and I look forward to embracing their traditions and promoting the role of women in the organisation.”
