Charles is an experienced planning and environmental lawyer, who provides advice to both public sector and commercial clients.
Charles is a graduate in both Commerce (1993) and Law (with Honours - 1998). He studied and practiced in New Zealand before moving to the UK in 2002, and he transferred his qualifications to the UK in 2004.
Charles has been involved in both contentious and non contentious projects with experience in promoting development opportunities through the consent process, entering into planning obligations and other infrastructure agreements.
A large part of his work is representing clients through public inquiries. He also has significant judicial review and statutory challenge experience with numerous notable successes in the Administrative and Planning Courts to his credit.
Outside of work Charles is active in outdoor pursuits, and his hobbies include walking, climbing, canoeing, sailing, mountain biking, cycling and downhill and cross-country skiing.
