Charles has over 13 years’ experience as a planning and environmental lawyer, with expertise in contentious and non-contentious matters.

Charles regularly participates in planning and enforcement appeals, call ins and related matters. His current projects include advising Miller Argent (South Wales) Limited in relation to surface mining and land remediation proposals at Nant Llesg and advising Wheeldon Brothers Limited in relation to a Town and Village Green application at Outseats farm, Alfreton.

He also has significant non-contentious experience, delivering section 106 agreements and other infrastructure agreements. He recently completed a s.106 agreement to deliver a residential development of 2,300 plus homes on the site of the former Drakelow Park Power Station, near Burton upon Trent on behalf of South Derbyshire District Council.

Charles regularly advises local authority, commercial and private clients on development and infrastructure matters. This includes contentious and non-contentious planning applications and appeals, planning enforcement matters, planning obligations, highways adoption agreements, sewer adoption agreements, compulsory purchase and related compensation issues.
