Geldards hosted a successful digital technology event, alongside Digital Tuesday, on Tuesday 1st October for over 50 delegates in our Cardiff office.
As Wales is currently at the heart of the UK Digital-Tech scene, our lawyers held the event in partnership with Digital Tuesday, to discuss how digital businesses can protect their IP rights and avoid legal pitfalls to ensure they become a thriving success.
Our speakers included:
Gosia Evans - Intellectual Property & Commercial Dispute Resolution Solicitor, who discussed how to protect IP rights in the context of app names and branding of digital businesses, and how to minimise the risk of infringing the rights of others;
Joga Singh - Senior Associate, Employment, who discussed how to protect IP rights in the context of managing internal arrangements with employees, interns and consultants, and to ensure that appropriate confidentiality and restrictive covenants are in place to protect the business; and
Christopher Cameron - Commercial & Intellectual Property Solicitor, who discussed how to protect IP rights and confidential information in the context of managing collaboration arrangements with third parties, and how to create commercial opportunities to exploit your IP rights.
Commenting on the event, Gosia said:
“Our event in partnership with Digital Tuesday was a huge success. We had a great turn out from many digital businesses across Cardiff and we hope they went away with valuable information.
“We would like to thank Digital Tuesday for partnering with Geldards and we look forward to partnering with them again in the future."
