FAMILY EXPERIENCE

We work closely with private individuals and families – but no one client is the same. Clients come to us with their own particular issues to discuss and whilst many are at similar stages in their life, their personal circumstances always vary.

A significant proportion of our work is for clients we have advised over many years, are too numerous to detail and whose details are, in any event, confidential.

However, by way of a typical example please see brief summary below:

• Acting for a spouse in a hotly contested financial remedy case involving assets in in multiple jurisdictions with allegations of large scale dissipation of assets. This involved complex arguments over the treatment of compensation paid to the spouse’s family for assets seized during WW2.
  
  
• Acting for our client whose spouse left her shortly after receiving a multi-million pound family gift. The family wealth including a cash gift came from the parents. Despite paying no child support, the claimant sought an equal split of the assets. This was successfully resisted and settled to our clients’ satisfaction.
  
  
• Acting for our client in a collaborative law case involving complex property issues, company valuations and a complex multi-million pound trust fund.
  
  
• Representation of a child through her Guardian in a very entrenched case between a grandparent seeking contact and a parent bitterly opposed to this. An elder sibling died during the proceedings and the parents are not together. Our role was to advise and represent the Guardian and seek to break down barriers in the interest of securing the best outcome for the child whose voice is all too often lost in these types of case.
