Giselle led the Geldards’ Charity Law & Social Enterprise Team advising Charities, Third Sector or Voluntary & Community Sector bodies, Social Enterprises and other “not for profit” organisations on a wide range of legal & business issues until August 2018 and is now a retained Consultant for the Team.
Giselle has specialised in advising charity and voluntary sector organisations including trusts, unincorporated associations, charitable and social enterprise companies, community benefit societies, statutory bodies and Royal Charter Corporations on a wide range of matters including new start-ups, governance, reorganisations, mergers and transfers, trustee liability, trading and taxation. She also advised the firm’s property lawyers on specialist Charity Law aspects of the transactions they handle.
Giselle is recognised as the leader in her field in Wales and highly regarded across the rest of the UK. She has often been involved in advising how best to structure high profile projects from the very outset. She ensures the team in all four of the firm’s offices are able to provide this specialist advice on a sound local footing. Clients include some of the UKs largest charities and work in a variety of fields including health, education, arts & culture, relief of poverty, youth & age, religion, housing and grant-making.
