Geldards’ Cardiff based corporate team has successfully advised private equity investor LDC on its significant minority investment into Zip World. The deal values the business at £45m.
Zip World runs three adventure experiences in Snowdonia, including what is thought to be the world’s fastest zip wire, Velocity 2, at its site in Penrhyn Quarry and Europe’s highest giant swing Skyride at its site in Betws y Coed. LDC is the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group.
The deal was led by Geldards Partner Geraint Tilsley. Geraint said:
“LDC’s investment will support Zip World’s ongoing growth in the Welsh market, expansion beyond Wales and particularly its aim to double in size over the next three years. LDC and the management teams share values and vision for the future of Zip World and we are looking forward to watching its continued growth and success.
“We were delighted to be involved in a landmark deal for LDC in Wales.”
