The nationally recognised retail property team at Geldards has been strengthened with the appointment of Anish Raja to its Nottingham office as an Associate.
Anish joins Geldards’ team from Shakespeares' Leicester office, having formerly worked with DLA in Birmingham and Eversheds in Nottingham. He specialises in landlord and tenant law, and has advised local, national and international retailers on their UK property portfolios, dealing with acquisitions and disposals and general real estate portfolio management.
“Our retailer clients expect us to provide innovative and cost effective legal solutions, and Anish’s experience in this sector will enable us to continue to meet this expectation.”
David Watson, partner and head of Geldards’ retail property team, explained: “With more experience and strength in depth than most legal teams in this sector, Geldards is able to handle a huge cross section of work, from the routine to the most complex transactions.
“Our retailer clients expect us to provide innovative and cost effective legal solutions, and Anish’s experience in this sector will enable us to continue to meet this expectation. We are delighted to have strengthened our team in this way”
Geldards’ firm wide retail team comprises over 60 specialist lawyers with significant retail industry experience gained from working alongside clients ranging from major PLCs to niche retailers.
The appointment of Anish follows the recent additions of Tiffany Cloynes and Heather Dixon as partners at the firm, along with Jessica Findlay who joined the retail team as a trainee legal executive in May.
Anish, who will be based at Geldards’ Nottingham office, added: “This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a team and a firm that has gone from strength to strength due to its commitment to providing the highest levels of client service.
“I’m looking forward to helping to grow Geldards’ impressive national and international client base whilst continuing to support the needs of the firm’s existing regional clients within the fast moving and highly pressured environment of the retail sector.
