A graduate of the University of Birmingham, Michael trained and qualified in London, before moving to South Wales in 1988. Having gained early experience in practice as a criminal, family, personal injury and professional negligence lawyer, he then studied IP at Cardiff University for a year in 1992, and has specialised in that field ever since. He joined Geldards in 2003 after several years heading up the IP practice of another leading regional law firm.

Although an experienced transactional IP lawyer, Michael has established a particularly strong reputation as an intellectual property dispute resolution lawyer, and has conducted many significant IP cases in the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court, High Court, Court of Appeal and Intellectual Property Office.
