David is a Senior International Business Solicitor who specialises in cross border dispute resolution, particularly in bankruptcy, insolvency and corporate reconstruction.

With over 25 years’ experience, David has been responsible for leading teams of lawyers from different jurisdictions in recovering very substantial sums for creditors. His leading cases include Barton Manufacturing Ltd BCLC [1999] 1 BCLC and the TOEMT litigation which had creditor claims more than € 500 million and led to 5 separate decisions of the UK courts. He was the lead UK solicitor in the FlowTex insolvency (at the time the second-largest corporate reconstruction in German history) with creditor claims more than € 3 billion and responsibility for co-ordinating concurrent proceedings in the Isle of Man, the UK, Guernsey, Jersey, Switzerland, Spain, and Portugal. The overall assignment was completed to the entire satisfaction of the German insolvency administrators over a twelve-year period.

David is one of the lead solicitors in the Geldards German Team and advises many of the firms’ German clients on their UK operations and transactions. He conducts mediation bilingually, in German and French with conversational Portuguese, Spanish and Welsh. David acted as leading editor of the standard handbook on company winding-up procedures, has a business executive coaching practice, is an accredited Myers Briggs Type Indicator practitioner and has previously taught at the Universities of both Chester and Bangor.
