PAUL HOPKINS



Paul has considerable experience as an international lawyer handling all forms of commercial cross border disputes whether through litigation, arbitration or alternative dispute resolution.

Paul’s practice encompasses a broad spectrum of international commercial disputes and issues including enforcement of foreign judgments, advising on jurisdiction issues, pursuing claims against overseas parties, advising clients on the provision of evidence for use in foreign courts and obtaining international injunctions.

He has attended upon depositions in the US, represented a UK client in a mediation in New York, advised in a substantial multi jurisdiction case involving allegations of fraud, bribery and secret commission in litigation in London, Geneva, Houston and BVI and advised a leading UK university on provision of evidence for use in US patent proceedings.

Paul has spoken at international conferences in the UK and abroad. He participated in a Trial By Jury programme organised by the ABA, chaired a CILS Conference in Salzburg on Barriers To Free Movement of Civil Justice and spoke at a meeting of the Cincinnati Bar Association. He was also recently a panel member at Insider Magazine’s International Trade Business Breakfast in Cardiff.

Paul is a member of IBA, chair of the Dispute Resolution Group within IBLC and is the firm’s International Services Partner.

Paul edited International Enforcement of Foreign Judgments published by Yorkhill Law Publishing for IBLC and contributed the chapter on England and Wales.
