PAUL HOPKINS



Paul is a leading sports lawyer with extensive experience in advising sports clubs, governing bodies and professional sportsmen and women on sports related disputes and issues.

Paul acted for many years for Cardiff Rugby Football Club Limited and Cardiff Blues Limited and is the firm’s relationship partner for British Boxing Board of Control and Cardiff Devils Ice Hockey team.

He has also acted for professional sports men and women in relation to doping and disciplinary issues, disputes with clubs, issues relating to sports injury insurance as well as providing advice on issues that might arise outside their sporting career.

Paul has been involved in a number of high profile sports related disputes including Cardiff Blues v David (Dai) Young and London Wasps, the Hawkes v Cuddy litigation relating to Neath RFC and the Ospreys and Pontypool RFC v the Welsh Rugby Union.

Paul appeared on the BBC Wales Scrum V TV Special on the State of Welsh Rugby in January 2014. He is a director of Engagesport LLP.
