Stephen advises the full range of the firm’s clients, from private, public and third sectors, across the full spectrum of employment issues, from recruitment through to dismissal and the defence of claims after dismissal.

He provides pragmatic consultancy advice on all aspects of human resources management but has a particular expertise in relation to TUPE transactions, where he has advised on many complex TUPE matters, including negotiating the allocation of risk. He has also acted as an independent investigation officer in relation to several disciplinary issues relating to senior managers, up to and including chief officers.

Stephen is an experienced advocate and has represented clients at Employment Tribunals and the Employment Appeal Tribunal. Since 2011, Stephen has also been sitting as a part-time Employment Tribunal Judge.

Stephen has also trained clients on a variety of human resources issues and is a regular speaker at, and chair of, external conferences.
