Tomos is a member of Geldards’ public law team, specialising in planning, environmental, highways and compulsory purchase law.
He has significant experience in contentious and non-contentious planning law acting for both public and private sector clients. This ranges from advising on local plans and other strategic issues to advising on development control issues including enforcement matters and applications for certificates of lawfulness. Tomos also has experience of major planning inquiries, judicial review and other High Court challenges.
Tomos regularly negotiates section 106 planning obligations and other infrastructure agreements, and advises on a wide range of other matters affecting development such as town and village greens, public rights of way and heritage designations such as listed buildings and conservation areas.
Tomos also advises clients on environmental law and regularly provides advice on the contaminated land regime in the context of property and corporate transactions. He is a member of the UK Environmental Law Association.
