Our Trainee Solicitor positions offer an exciting opportunity for dynamic applicants to become part of a well-established and professional firm.

Stage 1
Online Application Form - to be completed in full by 1pm on Tuesday 28th February. 

Stage 2
Written Assessment - the written assessment will be issued at 12pm on Friday 3rd March and will need to be completed by 9am on Tuesday 7th March. Please ensure you have provided an email address you have regular access to.

It is essential for applicants to demonstrate and evidence that they meet the following criteria in order to progress through to the next stage. 

Commitment, ambition and enthusiasm

Work Experience
Applicants will have completed additional work experience activities within the field of law and will have a good insight into what working in law entails. 

Team player
Our Trainees are great team players. They embrace challenges and team objectives as well as working towards their own objectives. 

Commercial Awareness
Applicants will have a high level of commercial awareness and the challenges and events that are current within the industry sector.


Dedicated support
Successful applicants are introduced to Geldards with an intensive week-long company induction where they are given the tools required to begin the role. Within seats, trainees are allocated to a dedicated supervisor who ensures quality work is issued for maximum learning opportunities. 

Throughout the course of the training contract, trainees are supported through regular meetings with dedicated trainee contacts and the HR team. 

Trainees are given regular quarterly feedback which provides an opportunity to discuss any developmental needs and opportunities. 

Preparation for Qualification
Through a variety of high quality work tasks, dedicated support networks, feedback and professional development support, our trainees are prepared to a high standard for the stage of qualification. Academic and practical boundaries are extended and challenged to ensure our trainees are highly prepared for qualification. 

Variety of Seats
Trainees sit four six-month seats throughout their two year training contract. The extended seats allow a substantial period to ensure seats are of good quality.

Opportunity to Develop
From the stage of recruitment, we identify key development areas and encourage trainees to develop and polish skills throughout their training contract and this continues upon qualification. We encourage development and progression within Geldards and take pleasure in watching our staff grow with us.
