Geldards advises the management team of Enotria & Coe on its agreement to be acquired by Majestic Wine
Geldards has advised the management team of Enotria & Coe in relation to Enotria’s formal agreement to be acquired by Majestic Wine. Once completed, the strategic acquisition is expected to bolster Majestic’s presence in the on-trade where it has recorded double-digit growth for three consecutive years.
Enotria & Coe is one of the most respected distributors of premium wines and spirits in the UK, supplying to some well-known names in the food and drinks industry including Rick Stein, Gaucho and Hotel du Vin/Malmaison. With a history dating back over fifty years, the company has grown significantly over the past two decades boosted by some key acquisitions which have cemented its credentials in the on-trade.
One of the UK’s largest specialist wine retailers, Majestic was crowned ‘On-Trade Supplier of the Year’ at the 2024 Drinks Business Awards and boasts a customer base of 3,000 hospitality venues. Whilst the two entities will remain operationally distinct, the acquisition of Enotria will help the Majestic group create a best-in-class, differentiated service and product proposition.
