Geldards Chairman Wins Professional Services Leader Award

Geldards Chairman David Williams has been presented as the winner of the Professional Services Leader Award at the East Midlands Leadership Awards, which took place on 6th November in Nottingham.

The awards celebrated the people who are role models within their organisations and show qualities of extraordinary leadership and be able to demonstrate the positive impact this has had on their organisation and wider local area within the East Midlands.

The judging panel for the awards shortlist consisted of: Adam Simpson, commercial director at Liquidity Club; Richard Blackmore, CBI East Midlands regional director; Sophie Dale-Black, regional director for the Midlands at ICAEW; Alex Alcock, director, Distinct Recruitment; and Stephen Barker, chief executive of Nottingham Creative Quarter.

David also believes passionately about the East Midlands region and works tirelessly to promote it and deliver success at a regional, national and international level. His dedication to the region and its development, is evident through the number of non-executive and trustee positions he holds. Locally he is a Deputy Lieutenant for the County of Derbyshire, past Chairman of the Derby Nottingham Metro Growth Board, Deputy Chair of D2N2 LEP, a Director of Nottingham Regeneration Limited, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Arkwright Society, a former Director of Derby County Football Club and became Deputy Chairman of the Employment Policy Committee at Nottingham Trent University in August 2019 where he is on the Board of Governors.

David is the Chairman of Geldards and has been with the firm since joining in 1989. Originally based at the firms’ head office in Cardiff, David was pivotal to the firm’s expansion and success into the East Midlands in the 90’s before taking on the role of Chairman. Today, in addition to his wider ambassadorial role, David plays an active role in every aspect of the firm and in ensuring the continued success and future growth of the firm.
