Geldards Education Partner Kevin McManamon shortlisted for Law Society’s ‘Legal Heroes’ award

Kevin McManamon, a skilled practitioner in Geldards Education team, has been shortlisted for The Law Society’s prestigious ‘Legal Heroes’ award.

The Legal Heroes award, now in its second year, recognises those solicitors who have made a real impact on the lives of others and the local community by going above and beyond. The Law Society invites nominations for the esteemed award for solicitors who have made a tangible difference to the lives of others over the last two years, and brought distinction to the legal profession.

Kevin specialises in Education law and Mental Capacity law, acting for families across England and Wales. Boasting over 15 years’ experience, he is the only solicitor in the country to have genuine expertise in special educational needs law as it applies to the separate jurisdictions in England and Wales, combined with Mental Capacity law. He has advised a huge number of families and individuals on education law, disability related matters and public law and regularly advises charitable organisations.

Commenting on his shortlist for the Legal Hero’s award, The Law Society said:

“Kevin’s dedication to supporting families with special educational needs and disabilities shines through his pro bono work, workshops, webinars and offering vital legal guidance and empowerment.
Being partially sighted himself, Kevin has a genuine appreciation of the difficulties faced by both children and adults with disabilities. He mentors colleagues and provides free training, embodying resilience and compassion, significantly impacting countless lives.”

An announcement of the winners will be made at an awards ceremony in London in September. We wish Kevin the very best of luck!
