Geldards Law Firm Forms Partnership With Sunshine Support

Geldards has formed a partnership working agreement with leading advocacy and advice organisation Sunshine Support, a not-for-profit organisation that helps families navigate their way through the complex world of special educational needs (SEN) law to ensure they receive the right advice and guidance from trustworthy experts.

Sunshine Support was founded by Chrissa Wadlow, a parent of a highly intelligent autistic child who required a specialist educational provision. Chrissa fought her daughter’s case to the High Court and was successful in securing the support she needed. Chrissa’s story, told at the beginning of each workshop held by the organisation, has inspired hundreds of families to seek justice and exercise their right to the law.

Geldards’ Education Law team is comprised of leading specialists in education and discrimination law. The team includes several members with SEN themselves, which drives their passion for helping families whose children also have SEN and helps them understand how crucial the right support is to the education and future of a child or young person. The team has helped thousands of clients or their children achieve their full potential in their education, future lives and careers.

The partnership includes running a number of events to inform parents and professionals of the rights SEN children have during education. Further details of the events can be found on Sunshine Support’s or Geldards’ website.

Partner Adam Friel, Head of the Education Law team, commented:

“We are delighted to be working with sunshine support, an organisation that mirrors our own values and strives, as we do, to fight tooth and nail for the legal rights of children and young people with special educational needs. Organisations like sunshine support are vital for families that have been unable to access the support they need and our partnership will provide these families with the help and advice they need to move forward with their lives.”

Chrissa Wadlow, founder of Sunshine Support, added:

“We are very pleased to partner with Geldards, who understand the importance of fighting for the rights of children and families that aren’t afforded the access to education that they deserve. Our partnership will provide access to legal advice from a trusted expert for families who otherwise wouldn’t have known such help exists.”
