Geldards Lead The Way For Hs2 In The East Midlands

Geldards are delighted to be a lead partner of the HS2 Business Advisory Group, a group that launched this week to ensure the East Midlands reaps maximum benefit from the national HS2 project.

Businesses, including Geldards, are concerned that wider awareness of the project is still relatively low and with other external pressures such as Brexit, it is important that the positive messages of what HS2 can bring to the region are amplified and that the businesses and workforces we have in the region are prepared. HS2 has the potential to re-shape the entire region, not just economically but also geographically, and a strong business voice is critical.

The group is made up of business leaders from many of the region’s largest businesses, including Geldards, East Midlands Chamber, Wellglade Group, Rolls Royce, Bowmer and Kirkland, East Midlands Airport, KPMG, FSB, the IoD, the Rail Forum East Midlands, Nottingham Trent University, Skills & Education Group, the CBI, and the National Housing Federation.

Michelle Craven-Faulkner, Geldards Partner, Vice-Chair of the Rail Forum East Midlands and lead member of the HS2 Business Advisory Group said:

“HS2 is a revolutionary project in the East Midlands and one that has the potential to have a huge impact on the economy, businesses, skills and connectivity of the region.

“As a large business in the region, it is important for us to get our voice heard, ensure that the project is a success and the benefits of it are felt within The East Midlands. The HS2 Business Advisory Group is a great initiative to ensure this success and we are very proud to be partnering with so many other leading East Midlands businesses to play our part.”
