Geldards Property Team Go Out To Deliver Covid-19 Facility

The Nottingham based Commercial Property Team at leading regional law firm Geldards, have pulled out the stops to deliver a deal that will see a Coronavirus recovery facility delivered.

Acting for the owners of a North Norfolk Nursing Home, a short term lease was agreed in record time to enable Norfolk County Council to take possession and start adapting a critical facility in the local fight against Coronavirus.

Working around the clock, the team, who have continued to support clients whilst working remotely, were able to complete the transaction in record time despite facing a number of logistical challenges thrown up by lockdown.

“Whilst in normal circumstances, this would be a transaction expected to take several weeks to complete, the urgent need to build supporting capacity in social care meant that this was a project that needed to be delivered in days instead of weeks or months. Working under lockdown conditions meant we had to adapt quickly to overcome unique challenges including virtual negotiations and the remote signing and witnessing of documents.”

The facility, anticipated to be open within weeks, will deliver up to 40 temporary beds in North Norfolk, to support people discharged from hospital.
