Geldards successfully advises Cullum Detuners on EMS acquisition

Leading law firm Geldards is proud to have successfully advised Derby based Cullum Detuners Limited (“Cullum”) on the acquisition of EMS Industries Limited (“EMS”).

The acquisition will see the 100% acquisition of EMS, a leading market supplier of RAM pumps and grit removal equipment for the Utilities and Energy from Waste Sectors , into Cullum,  the world leading engineering business. The acquisition of EMS will support the long-term business goals of market diversification and business simplification for Cullum’s primary markets including energy, aerospace and automotive testing. EMS will operate as a stand-alone business, with no integration into the wider group.

A Geldards team led by Corporate Partner Peter Seary advised on a wide range of legal areas arising from the transaction with support from colleagues Sarah Bailey and Tom Wilcher (Corporate), Andrew Evans (Tax), Rachel Mills (Employment) and Stuart Walters (Property).

Mark Jansen, Cullum Group Managing Director, said: “The EMS product range provides a solid baseline for continued growth within the UK, plus a unique opportunity via our overseas platforms. As we worked through the process, the quality of both the people at EMS, and the product were clear to see. We are thrilled to welcome the staff to the team and will work to support EMS reach their goals”.

Peter Seary said: “We were delighted to represent Cullum and work alongside Mark Jansen and Mike Suart and all of the team at Cullum. The successful acquisition of EMS by Cullum brings together two market leading organisations with complementing products and markets that provide the opportunity for diversification and long term growth.”
