Public Sector England Training - Is it time to review your Pay and Grading Structure?
Public sector pay has been under considerable scrutiny as a result of pay freezes imposed by UK Government during the Covid – 19 pandemic and the associated implications for English public sector organisations.
Public sector bodies are struggling to fill certain roles when competing with private sector employers who can pay higher wages, this coupled with expectations in relation to the Real Living Wage have resulted in the squeezing and distorting of pay scales for many public authorities.
Such factors can result in potential equal pay and discrimination issues over time.
In this session we look at some of the drivers for reviewing a public authority’s pay and grading structure, what the process would look like and what the potential outcomes may be.
