Catherine is an experienced Senior Associate in the Charities and Third Sector team at Geldards. She advises both large and small charities across a wide range of areas, including arts and culture, education, childcare, health, local authorities and volunteering.
The organisations she supports benefit from the insight Catherine gained from her time as Head of Governance at one of the sector’s largest volunteering charities, where she was responsible for the smooth operation of day-to-day governance, Trustee and regulatory matters. She also supported the charity’s delivery of NHS England’s volunteer-led pandemic response, in which volunteers provided community and vaccination support across England. This included addressing complex issues relating to volunteer onboarding, patient and volunteer safety and safeguarding, contract negotiation and data protection.
Prior to specialising in charity law, Catherine spent over 15 years as a commercial property lawyer, with a particular focus on transactions involving charity dispositions.
Alongside her professional practice, Catherine has been a Trustee of Arts Active Trust, a local arts and music charity. She has also served as Trustee and Chair of the Property Group for Llandaff Diocesan Board of Finance, a local faith-based charity, where her combined expertise in charity and commercial property law proved invaluable.
