Geldards expands into the East of England with new Chelmsford office

Geldards is delighted to announce its expansion into the East of England, as the firm opens a new office in Chelmsford. Geldards’ move into Essex and neighbouring areas highlights the firm’s ambitious growth strategy and commitment to delivering high-quality legal advice to clients across Essex and the East of England.

Partner Thomas Emmett heads up the firm’s newly opened Chelmsford office. Alongside his leading education sector practice, Thomas advises businesses, investors and public sector organisations on a broad range of corporate, commercial, banking and regulatory matters.

Thomas is joined by a team of highly skilled legal advisers providing clients in Chelmsford and across Essex with access to Geldards’ wider full-service legal expertise. The new team has been established in response to local demand, providing a full commercial law service to the region’s fast-growing commercial and public sectors.

Experienced Commercial Property lawyer Jennifer Rayner brings with her over a decade of commercial property expertise, having worked in City law firms before developing her practice in Essex. She advises both private and public sectors on a wide range of commercial property matters. Her clients include educational institutions, charities, businesses, local authorities, high-net-worth individuals and pension funds.

Boosting the team’s expertise is Employment Solicitor Charlotte Holman. With over ten years of employment law and HR experience, Charlotte has advised national and international companies on contentious and non-contentious matters, as well as education sector clients and employees. Charlotte specialises in high-value dispute negotiations and conducts her own tribunal advocacy.

The team is supported by experienced corporate paralegal Sarah Hawkins and will be bolstered by further appointments in the coming weeks.

Geldards’ new Chelmsford base sits alongside the firm’s existing locations in Cardiff, Derby, Nottingham and London. The offices are situated in stylish co-working space Nest within Station House, conveniently located in the heart of Chelmsford and close to local transport links.

Geldards Chief Executive Jeff Pearson commented:

It represents a significant milestone in our expansion strategy, born from the exceptional demand we have seen from clients over the past few years. Thomas Emmett, Partner and Head of Schools, Colleges and Universities, added:

“I am delighted to be leading Geldards’ new Chelmsford office and developing our presence across Essex. Our team of solicitors in Chelmsford are highly skilled and renowned in the local market for their expertise and deep sector knowledge.  We look forward to building close relationships with local businesses, charities, educational institutions and other organisations, strengthening our presence in Chelmsford and the East of England.”
