Celebrations at Geldards for outstanding results in Legal 500 Rankings
Geldards is celebrating outstanding results across the board in the recently published Legal 500 guide to the best law firms, as well as gaining top recognition in the rankings as a ‘leading law firm’.
Legal 500 undertakes extensive research throughout the year, conducting interviews with firms, peers and clients as well as seeking unsolicited comments to publish an independent assessment of the legal sector. The eagerly anticipated results are a benchmark for excellence and highlight leading laws firms who provide a truly exceptional legal service to clients.
In the latest 2024 results, an unprecedented 34 teams are recognised in different practice areas across Geldards, 14 of which are ranked as ‘Top Tier’, proving to be one of the most successful set of results the firm has ever achieved.
One of the highlights of the Legal 500 Rankings this year was the 24 Geldards lawyers ranked as ‘Leading Individuals’, 4 of whom were admitted to the prestigious ‘Hall of Fame’, an accolade reserved for partners at the pinnacle of their profession who demonstrate continued excellence to clients.
Geldards is delighted to have achieved an excellent performance across all core practice areas and particularly pleased with a leap in rankings for the Construction team who achieve Tier 1 status and the “very approachable” team are commended for “creativity, ability to negotiate in complex situations, along with their strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills are standout attributes.”
Geldards Education team are ranked for the first time, winning praise from satisfied clients; “Geldards’ Education team is professional, and it is clear they not only know the law, but also genuinely care about achieving justice for children with special educational needs and disabilities. We felt confident about our case knowing we were being assisted by such a strong team.”
Recognition for emerging talent within the firm was evidenced by a 33% increase in the number of Associates identified as ‘Rising Stars’; those cited by peers and clients as making a major contribution to practices. Whilst the firm was pleased to note a similar 33% increase in individuals recognised as ‘Next Generation Partners’ leading on multiple complex matters.
Other notable performances include;
The Corporate and Commercial team have moved up to pole position with a Tier 1 ranking this year and are recognised for providing “a very responsive, efficient and great quality advice” and also praised for their international work “we are a US-based company, and Geldards did a great job of combining our needs with UK market terms and applicable law.”
The Commercial Litigation team maintains its nationwide tier 1 status and is applauded for its “knowledgeable” disputes team and clients praised the team for showing “great insight into our business and the commercial decisions that are made” and providing “excellent experience and support throughout the running of complex commercial disputes.”
The “responsive and friendly” Charities and Not for Profit team are singled out for “expertise in governance regulations” and maintain their top tier ranking, whilst the Contentious Trusts and Probate team achieve a ranking for the first time and are recognised as being “an excellent and focussed contentious probate team that covers all areas of related litigation.”
Geldards Public Sector team is singled out for providing “really specialist expertise in a regional setting. Equally competent in both Welsh and English public and administrative law jurisdictions, which is unique. Their track record in working for clients right through the sector is unique and impressive” and maintains tier 1 status.
Also maintaining their Tier 1 status, Geldards Family team are commended as an “exceptional team of lawyers, who can deliver excellent advice on a wide range of family issues”.
