Charity Commission published guidance on use of social media

As social media becomes a more important part of a charity’s activities, the Charity Commission has published draft guidance on the use of social media and the importance of having a social media policy. The aim of this guidance is to help trustees improve their understanding of social media and make clear how the existing trustee duties apply to the use of social media.

The Commission are currently in the consultation phase and have asked for feedback on the guidance. You can find the Charity Commission’s draft policy and provide feedback on the draft guidance here.

If you have any questions about your charity’s policies, please speak to a member of our Charities team.
