Employment PowerHour Webinar - Sexual harassment in the workplace

Employment PowerHour webinar: Sexual harassment in the workplace

In this webinar our Employment team looked at sexual harassment including issues surrounding the new duty on employers to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace due to come into force on 26 October 2024 requiring employers to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment of their employees in the course of their employment.

Our team discussed what the new duty will mean in practice and whether this provides employees with broader protection than the current legislation. We explained the compensation regime under the new law and most importantly considered how employers can prepare for the introduction of the new duty.

The team also provided a general employment law update taking a look at proposed statutory changes and notable and interesting employment cases over the last year.
