Geldards advises M.A Ford Europe on Mercian acquisition in manufacturing boost
Geldards’ Corporate law team has advised Derby-based manufacturer M.A Ford Europe on the acquisition of Mercian Cutting Tools, in a move to strengthen its manufacturing capacity in the UK and expand into further market sectors.
Established over 25 years ago, specialist tooling design and manufacturer M.A Ford has built a well-established reputation for precision tooling. Serving customers across a broad spectrum of industries from agriculture to aerospace, the firm supplies the latest cutting tool technologies and specialist tool design and manufacturing solutions to over 60 countries worldwide.
Mercian Cutting tools, based in Tamworth, is known for high performance precision tooling, primarily for major automotive manufacturers, and the aerospace, medical, and power generation sectors. The acquisition sees Mercian’s specialist custom tool production capabilities and skilled workforce integrated into MA Ford’s operations, increasing manufacturing capabilities and opening new market sectors.
